A “wrangler” by nature, Alimah's interest in the business side of music was sparked in high school through her love of hip-hop, which led to a stint managing a popular local DJ. Several years later, she started her career in music with Ruff Ryders / Interscope Records. Starting as their Business & Legal Affairs assistant, then transitioning to A&R admin, she managed contracts, recording budgets, licensing, and sample clearances for DMX, Eve, The Lox, and Jadakiss, among others.

What's her key to survival? Stay Low. Keep Firing.

When she’s not planning experiential activations at Translation or traveling, Alimah advises artists and producers through her company, Phenom Entertainment. Alimah hails from Yonkers, NY (the 6th borough), and earned an undergraduate degree and MBA from SUNY Albany and the University of Maryland University College, respectively.
